Save as translated stp files
The person was trying create the stp file in a network location. They had read/write access to that location but not modify. Solid Edge creates the stp file with a %%% extension until it has completed the file translation. After the translation is completed, it tied to modify the file extension to stp and was not able to since the person did not have modify rights to the network folder location.
After adding the modify permission, all worked as it should.
